Distributing Our Final Product

We made people aware of our product by putting posters around the school, mainly within the sixth form building as that is where out target audience is based. We also made public announcements and handed out tickets to our target audience, also giving them an overview of the making of our product. 

The companies we have included within the poster are the companies that sponsored this film especially with making and facilities, along with the companies within our trailer including our own production company. 

The main cinema company's that would distribute our film would be, Vue, Odeon,Cineworld and Empire as those are the main cinema companies within the UK at the moment, and also the most popular.

We also asked our audience who attended the screening to fill out questionnaire's prior to the recorded footage .

These questions helped us understand the many opinions of our audience of various ages and gave us a wider range of thoughts. These questions helped us summarise the overall reaction to our trailer and also helped us reflect on our products.

We looked into house styles from Film and Empire magazine, these magazines we used within the construction to our own magazine, with the links between the colour, graphics, imagery and context. We looked at both new and old products of the magazine.

We looked into posters, adverts an images to help with the creation of our poster, to link to the meaning of our film and the storyline.

We chose to use a plain and simple white background within a studio, to give us more of a platform to edit on , so there wasn't too much going on within the picture as we were following some of the conventions of previous horror posters that we had looked at, the backgrounds were usually done using Photoshop or other programs. However we used coloured sheets of plastic over the lights to test out the colours that looked good on the final shot and gave the feel of horror. We also used these shots within the making of our magazine.

Test Shots

This is a series of test shots that we took that were meant for our final trailer. The first set of clips 

was filmed with a selfie stick, to act as a go pro as she was running to enhance the realistic feel to Sydney running, however we could not use this footage, as the quality was low when we exported the files, and ruined the consistency of the trailer with the quality of footage.The second series of footage is the first edit of the opening scene to the trailer, in our final we will make few changes to the clip as it seems to be too long.

Titles and Font Use

These are the transition royalty free footage we used to create our titles within our trailer. We used a moving image because it indicates the passing of time between clips. We also used and ink in water transition to imitate blood which links with horror.

This is a video of the titles we had created using the footage and premiere, the video shows the different transitions and enlarging techniques we could create on Premiere CC, this is a test of this technique. We also ended up using some of these titles within our final trailer.

Research into music and Sound effects 

My group and I researched into many sound effects and music we would use within our trailer for example we looked into well known horror soundtracks, also fan made playlists of top ten horror sound tracks, we also looked into soundtrack from similar psychological horror films such as Blair witch project and Jessabelle We also researched into horror sound effects, such as heart pulses,child whispers, creepy lullabies. We chose sound effects and a soundtrack that would fit our storyline, and flow with our trailer, for example not to fast pace and harsh, more softer dynamic. This video s audio includes some of the example tracks we like and downloaded and tested with our horror trailer.

Use of Sound effects and music 

This is a list of of the soundtracks and sound effects we chose to use within our trailer however not all of them worked well as we hoped. However sound effects like the intense heartbeat, or the Boom sound effect increased the anticipation for the next scene or insinuated that something dramatic or scary was going to happen.The increased pitch, dynamic and treble,increased the scare factor within our audience and a softer more lower pitch and dynamic decrease it, however that can be subverted with a sudden jump scare.However when the build up is subtle is creates a sense of curiosity. There is usually a simple soundtrack as the base for the trailer storyline these sound effects are added to enhance the jump scares, emotional thoughts of characters or events mainly to add more of a realistic approach to the trailer.
